Medical Abortion

Medical Abortion (AKA Abortion Pill or Medication Abortion) is a multi-step process involving two appointments and two medications; one to take the same day and one to take at home a few days later.  Approximately 10 percent of clients who have a medical abortion need a surgical abortion to empty the uterus and complete the process.

Surgical Abortion

Surgical abortion is a procedure where the client’s cervix is dilated manually to remove the fetus and placenta via suction and curette (spoon-shaped surgical instrument used to scoop contents).  As with any medical procedure, there are health risks to the client.  These health risks increase anytime you are considering inserting surgical instruments into your body.
